ABOUT CABAN-Y-BRYN
Caban-y-Bryn meaning 'cabin on the hill' is a Shepherds Hut that sits at the top of a 2 acre terraced garden, with fabulous views of the surrounding valleys and hills. With a 15 minute drive to Builth Wells, 20 minute drive to Hay-on-Wye there is plenty of local activities and attractions to keep you busy. It sleeps three, with a comfy double bed and a sofa which can be converted to a single bed. It has an outdoor shower and wood fired bath-tub, compost toilet, a wood-burning stove, sink, all cooking equipment and two hobs for cooking. Linen and gowns are provided, due to current COVID-19 restrictions you will need to bring your own towels and tea towels.
There is also an outdoor fire pit for toasting marshmallows on a cosy evening and watching the sunset opposite the Hut. The decking offers a perfect setting for outdoor meals, or another spot to watch the sunset over a glass of bubbly.
The Hut is a remote country retreat, built with the consciousness of sustainability. It's electricity is powered by solar energy, and the toilet is a compost system. The location of the Hut offers a relaxing break from modern life, so the only socket in the Hut is a USB point from which to charge your phone. There is also no WiFi or T.V. in the Hut.
There is parking next to our house, and a short 3 minute walk up to the Hut.
